OUTRIGGER hosts annual ocean conservation event at Waikiki Aquarium

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – OUTRIGGER Resorts & Hotels is bringing its annual ocean conservation event back to Waikiki.

The 10th annual OUTRIGGER Zone Day will take place Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Waikiki Aquarium as part of World Ocean Month.

The family-friendly event will feature hands-on activities, environmental exhibits and more than 20 community organizations focused on protecting Hawaii’s oceans.

During the event, hundreds of OUTRIGGER employees will make thousands of Genki Balls — mud balls infused with beneficial microorganisms — to support the Genki Ala Wai Project and help improve water quality in the Ala Wai Canal.

Guests can also enjoy ocean-themed activities, environmental art displays, an HPD Keiki ID station, shaved ice, entertainment and prize giveaways, including a chance to win a one-night stay at an OUTRIGGER resort.

Admission is free for OUTRIGGER resort guests. Standard admission fees apply for the general public.
