First responders were alerted to a reported stabbing after an altercation at Zablan Beach at around 1:20 p.m.

Witnesses told Hawaii News Now the confrontation began over a parking stall, where someone had placed a chair to save it. Then, someone moved the chair out of the way, and another person pulled out a knife.

The Honolulu Police Department has not confirmed eyewitness accounts, as their investigation is ongoing.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said multiple units responded to four patients involved in the fight who suffered multiple apparent stab wounds or lacerations.

EMS administered advanced life support for three women, ages 22, 23 and 32, for serious injuries and multiple wounds before taking them to the hospital for further treatment.

One person, a 36-year-old woman, was evaluated and treated, but declined transport, EMS said.

“We are deeply saddened by the reports of this tragic incident and are keeping the women affected in our prayers. The safety and well-being of our community remains our greatest concern as we await further information,” said state Rep. Darius Kila

HPD said the suspect, another 36-year-old woman, fled the scene but was located and arrested for attempted murder in the first degree.

Some witnesses say those involved were visitors to the islands, but that has not been confirmed.

“If you guys coming from the mainland or anywhere else besides Hawaii, do some research. Come here with Aloha. Because if you guys don’t, this is the kind of things that can happen. And you know, there’s a lot of kids here,” said Waianae Resident James Awana.
