HANALEI (HawaiiNewsNow) – Kauai officials advised residents and visitors to avoid Hanalei Bay due to heavy runoff and brown water Friday.

The Ocean Safety Bureau posted warning signs and is monitoring the area. Swimming and other activities at the bay are not recommended.

It comes during a threat of heavy showers that could cause flooding across the state.
