Suspect arrested in Kaimuki attempted murder case involving officer
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Honolulu police are investigating an attempted homicide involving a law enforcement officer in Kaimukī.

The incident was reported around 1 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Sixth and Harding avenues.
Investigators said officers stopped a 35-year-old man at an intoxication-controlled roadblock when he allegedly tried to flee in his vehicle. Police said an officer attempted to disable the vehicle but became trapped inside. Authorities said the suspect then allegedly attacked the officer while driving at a high rate of speed.

Police said the 29-year-old officer was able to overcome the suspect and bring the vehicle to a stop.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer.
