4 displaced after Waianae residential fire
WAIANAE (HawaiiNewsNow) – Four people are displaced after a building fire in Waianae on Tuesday.

The Honolulu Fire Department responded around 2:48 p.m. to a call for a fire at 86-408 Puhawai Road.
The first arriving unit found flames at the rear of a small single-family home.
Firefighters secured a water supply and launched an offensive attack. Officials said the blaze was brought under control at 3:07 p.m. and fully extinguished by 5 p.m.

The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the four displaced occupants.
On Wednesday, May 13, the HFD Investigator classified the cause of the fire as accidental.
The fire originated in a bedroom of the home where smoldering paper materials ignited a mattress. The total fire loss is estimated to be $250,000.
