6 injured in H-1 Fwy. East crash, all lanes reopened
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Six people were injured Saturday in a crash that temporarily closed the eastbound lanes of the H-1 Freeway in the Pearl City area Saturday.

The crash happened at around 5:15 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the freeway between the Waipahu on-ramp and the Waimalu off-ramp.
Viewer photos and videos show an overturned vehicle in the roadway.
The Honolulu Fire Department said it arrived at around 5:40 p.m. The Honolulu Police Department and Emergency Medical Services were already on scene.
HFD said at least six vehicles were involved, but no one needed to be extricated.
Fire officials said vehicles and debris spread across all lanes, prompting a temporary closure of all eastbound lanes between the Waipahu on-ramp and the Waimalu off-ramp.

Police said several people were taken to the hospital.
EMS said they responded to the multi-vehicle crash and administered advanced life support to six patients and took them to the hospital for further treatment:
In addition, EMS said two teenage boys were evaluated on scene, but did not need to be taken to the hospital.
HFD said fire crews left around 6:30 p.m., and police remained on scene.
Officials said lanes were reopened as vehicles were removed.
As of 8:30 p.m., police said all vehicles have been towed, and all lanes of the H-1 East are now open.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
