Police search for suspect after Waianae attempted murder involving a machete

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Honolulu Police Department is searching for a suspect in an attempted murder investigation following an incident in Waianae on Thursday.

At approximately 10:49 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault near Guardrails on Farrington Highway in Waianae.

A 36-year-old woman sustained injuries after an altercation with a male suspect who was armed with a machete.

The victim disarmed the suspect before the suspect fled the area.

The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as a man, approximately 40 to 50 years old, about 5′8″, with a medium build.
