The race welcomed runners, walkers, and families until the start of the run on Saturday, benefiting the Hawaii Primary Care Association.

The 3-mile event was inspired by current Punahou School senior Alec Wong, who wanted to mix her passion for running with her aspirations to become a medical researcher in the future.

“Taking care of the people around you and doing it in a way that’s like very positive influence on other people, just seeing people smiling and running, but also contributing to a larger cause is like, you know, what brings you happiness through this race,” she said.
