Walker becomes just the fourth head coach in program history.

Walker made his first appearance officially as head coach and outlined his plans for the future of the rainbow wahine.

Using his experience as the associate head coach at Baylor to usher in UH’s move to the Mountain West Conference.

“Just through the experience I know I have, that I know how to do it there,” Walker said. “I know what the path looks like, I know what needs to happen, but in the end, just winning every day.”

Walker met with the current roster via zoom yesterday and is ready to get to work.

He is expected to be on island later this month.

“Just Hawaii just poured so much into me, this is my chance to pour back into the university and also to the student-athletes,” Walker added. “So, I want them to have the same experience I have and I want them to have a better experience than I have, I want them to win a national championship as a player.”

Walker has also been in communication with interim head coach Kaleo Baxter as they complete the coaching transition for the upcoming season.
