88-year-old snorkeler dies near Ko Olina Marina
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – An 88-year-old man is dead after he was found unresponsive in the waters off Ko ʻOlina Marina on Saturday.

The man was part of a tour group that was snorkeling at the time.
The Honolulu Ocean Safety Department responded to a call at about 2:15 p.m. of an unresponsive adult male aboard a 60-foot catamaran.
Tour staff administered CPR to the man while travelling back to the harbor.
HOSD lifeguards took over CPR efforts when the boat arrived, with assistance from the Honolulu Fire Department.
The man was transferred to Honolulu Emergency Medical Services, who administered advanced life support onshore.

He was taken to the emergency room in critical condition but was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
The death follows an incident on Aug. 26 when a 62-year-old man was also found unresponsive snorkeling in the waters off Ko ʻOlina and was pronounced dead.
