According to the Hawaii Police Department, at around 3:55 p.m., a white Toyota Tacoma truck crashed through the glass storefront and hit patrons and store fixtures before stopping inside the store.
Rebecca Dudoit was shopping inside the store on Puainako Street at around 4 p.m. when she heard the impact.
Video from the scene showed the pickup truck completely inside the store, dislodging merchandise aisles as glass and debris scattered across the floor.
Dudoit said two people were on the ground, a cashier appeared in pain, and a man was pinned between a register and the car.
“It’s really scary, especially when I still have the scene in my eyes about the guy underneath the truck with it. All I could see was legs and slippers. I still see that in my mind,” she said.

Authorities said the driver, an 86-year-old Hilo man, was evaluated by medics at the scene and was not injured. Six people, ranging in age from 24 to 76, sustained injuries.
Police said four were treated at the scene by the Hawaii Fire Department medics and released. Two were taken to the Hilo Benioff Medical Center for further treatment and later released in stable condition.
Dudoit said store management evacuated customers until first responders arrived.
The department has opened a second-degree negligent injury investigation, which is currently ongoing.
