Mokulele Airlines launches free checked bag benefit for Hawaii residents

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Hawaii residents flying Mokulele Airlines can now check their first bag for free on inter-island flights.

The airline launched the new perk Monday through its free Elevate loyalty program. To qualify, residents must join Elevate and verify their local residency at check-in with a Hawaii Real ID.

“Our communities across Hawaii are at the heart of what we do,” Mokulele Airlines President Louis Saint-Cyr said. “Giving resident members a free checked bag and rewarding our loyal flyers with more is our way of saying ‘thank you’ for flying with us.”

The airline is also expanding benefits for elite loyalty tiers across both Hawaii and continental U.S. routes. Elevate Gold members will now receive two free checked bags, and Platinum members will get three.

Mokulele noted that these benefits do not stack, meaning travelers will receive the single most generous allowance that applies to them.
