Lahaina teen turns himself in to police in resort pool riot investigation
LAHAINA (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Hawaii Police Department said a 14-year-old Lahaina boy voluntarily turned himself in in connection with an ongoing investigation.

Police said the arrest stems from an assault and riot reported July 17 at a pool area on Nohea Kai Drive in Lahaina.
On Thursday, police said the boy turned himself in at the Wailuku Police Station and he was arrested on suspicion of riot.
Following processing, Family Court was apprised of the investigation and authorized his release into the custody of his parents.

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue to gather and review additional information.
MPD said detectives are still reviewing evidence, and investigators are looking into whether the incident was motivated by bias or involved gang-related activity.
