Kau police station phone system impacted by Hurricane Lala
HAWAII ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) – The phone system at the Kau Police Station is not working properly due to damage from Hurricane Lala.

Hawaii Island police said impacts to the surrounding fiber-optic network are affecting phone service at the station.
Officials said there is no timeline for when the system will be restored.
The station remains open during normal business hours from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for clerical services.

Anyone needing non-emergency police assistance should call police dispatch at (808) 935-3311. For emergencies, always call 911.

Residents can also visit the station in person.
Police said the public will be notified once phone service is fully restored.
