Hawaiian Electric monitors potential tropical storm, readies response plans

Crews are also continuing to support the Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative’s (KIUC) efforts to restore electric service on Kauaʻi.

Hawaiian Electric is closely monitoring forecasts and preparing to activate its emergency response procedures to respond to any storm impacts.

Customers are urged to review their own preparations, ensure they have supplies they need on hand, and to closely monitor weather updates.

With restoration on Kauaʻi in its final stages, Hawaiian Electric is preparing to return crews, equipment and vehicles to Oʻahu, Maui. and Hawaiʻi island, starting on Wednesday and continuing through Friday. More information about the restoration process can be found on KIUC’s website.
