HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A Hawaii man who was charged with possessing material containing child pornography has entered a guilty plea.
David Martin Garcia Perez, 34, was among more than 200 suspects arrested during a nationwide sweep in May of 2025.
Court documents show Perez now faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, followed by a minimum of five years of supervised release.
Perez must also register as a sex offender wherever he resides after serving his sentence.
Perez is currently in custody at the Federal Detention Center in Honolulu.
The national operation was a coordinated enforcement effort to identify, track, and arrest child sex predators.
Officials say the nationwide crackdown resulted in the rescue of 115 children and the arrest of 205 child sexual abuse offenders.
The inter-agency effort was executed by 55 FBI field offices, the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section of the Department’s Criminal Division, and multiple U.S. Attorneys General Offices.
