HART to extend Dillingham Blvd. traffic pattern as rail work continues

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Drivers on Dillingham Boulevard will see new traffic adjustments beginning Wednesday as rail construction moves farther east.

The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation said the existing traffic pattern between Middle Street and Waiakamilo Road will be extended to Kohou Street.

The changes are part of ongoing construction on the City Center Guideway and Stations project.

HART said the adjustment will not add any new lane closures. Instead, construction barriers will be installed to separate travel lanes from the work zone.

Current left-turn restrictions will remain in place.

Some driveways along Dillingham Boulevard will temporarily close during construction, but HART said access to all properties will be maintained through alternate entry points.

The traffic configuration is expected to remain in place 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through December 2030.
