Officials confirm no emergency after warning sirens sound across Oahu

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Emergency management officials say outdoor warning sirens sounded across Oahu on Monday morning due to a false alarm.

Officials stressed that there is no emergency and that the sirens went off due to an unscheduled system activation.

The Honolulu Department of Emergency Management issued an alert at 10:13 a.m. stating it is aware of the widespread activations and is actively collaborating with the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency to fix the issue.

The alerts prompted calls from residents across the island. Siren activations were reported in Aiea, Mapunapuna, Foster Village, Kalihi, Kunia, Wahiawa, and Mililani.
