Police investigate after man found dead with suspicious injuries at Hilo park
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Hawaii Island police are investigating after a man was found dead with suspicious injuries in Hilo Monday morning.

Officers responded to Kuawa Park on Kuawa Street around 7:06 a.m. after receiving a report of an unresponsive man.
Police said the man was found on the ground near the fence line along the north shoulder of Kuawa Street fronting the park.
Detectives with the Area I Criminal Investigation Section and evidence specialists responded to the scene.

The victim has not yet been identified, and his name is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday to determine the exact cause of death.
