The first closure is scheduled from 8 p.m. Saturday, June 6, through 8 a.m. Sunday, June 7, between the Middle Street merge and the Likelike Highway off-ramp.
The closure will allow crews to work on overhead electrical line installation spanning the freeway.
During the closure, the following ramps will be closed:
Eastbound motorists will be detoured via Middle Street to parallel roadways — N. King Street, Dillingham Boulevard or N. School Street — to rejoin the H-1 Freeway after the Likelike Highway on-ramp.
Westbound drivers will be detoured via the Likelike Highway off-ramp to parallel roadways — Dillingham Boulevard or N. School Street — to rejoin the westbound H-1 Freeway at Middle Street.

HDOT said the work is in preparation for the deployment of the temporary pedestrian bridge to begin the demolition and reconstruction of the Gulick Avenue overpass.
The overpass, which currently offers the lowest vertical clearance on Oahu, will be rehabilitated through the project and will gain approximately 6 inches in height.
Officials said bridge installation will require another full closure of the H-1 Freeway, which is scheduled from 8 p.m. Saturday, July 11, through 8 a.m. Sunday, July 12.
All work is weather permitting, and transportation officials have laid out several Saturdays — July 18, 25, and Aug. 1 — as contingency dates.
