First Alert Forecast: Tracking Hurricane Lowell, impacts possible this weekend, time to get prepared
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Major Hurricane Lowell will begin to drift northward later this weekend, potentially bringing impacts to the western most islands from Monday into Tuesday. The forecast is dependent on how close Lowell passes to the west, but there’s still a bit of uncertainty with regard to its path and intensity. We should continue to prepare for higher surf, strong winds and increasing heavy rainfall. A Wind Advisory remains posted for much of the state through Friday afternoon.

Swells from Hurricane Lowell has filled into south and south east shores and will remain elevated above High Surf Advisory conditions through Saturday. The rising swell from Lowell will eventually shift to the south west early next week and could reach warning levels.
