Pepeekeo water main break shuts off service to nearby homes, businesses
PEPEEKEO (HawaiiNewsNow) – A water main break on Kulaimano Road is temporarily cutting off water service to customers in parts of Pepeekeo, according to the Hawaii County Department of Water Supply (DWS).

Affected areas include Old Mamalahoa Highway between Piilani Kitchen and What’s Shakin’, along with the lower portion of Kulaʻimano Road, including any side roads and lanes.
Crews are working to repair the break, and the department expects repairs to continue until about 1 p.m. Friday, when service is anticipated to be restored.

After service resumes, DWS says crews will flush and clean waterlines. During that process, customers may notice turbid (cloudy) and/or discolored water. Some residents may also experience trapped air in household plumbing, which typically releases as water is first used.
