First construction graduates of Hawaii workforce program secure immediate offers

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A tuition-free job training program in Hawaiʻi celebrated its first graduating class in construction and skilled trades Monday night, with all 10 students immediately signing job offers or entering apprenticeships.

The inaugural signing day was held at Lowe’s Hawaiʻi, bringing education, workforce development, and industry leaders together to celebrate students as they transitioned from training to career opportunities.

The C2C Workforce USA program, run in partnership with the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), was also supported by the Coalition on Adult Basic Education (COABE), Hawaiʻi Teamsters Local 996, and Friends of Waimānalo.

Through the NCCER curriculum, students earn credentials recognized across all 50 states, opening up long-term careers in construction and the skilled trades.

C2C Workforce USA offers additional training programs in fields such as health care, technology and AI, agriculture and farming, and education.
