UH freshman Olivia Dianda earns Mountain West weekly honor

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – University of Hawaiʻi freshman Olivia Dianda has been named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week after scoring the first two goals of her college career.

The Rainbow Wahine forward earned the honor following a standout weekend at the OUTRIGGER Invitational.

Dianda scored her first collegiate goal Thursday against Western Michigan, finding the bottom-left corner in the second half.

She followed that up Saturday with another goal in Hawaii’s 2-0 win over Idaho.

With UH leading 1-0, Dianda scored an unassisted goal in the 79th minute to help secure the Rainbow Wahine’s first victory of the season.

Through Hawaiʻi’s first four matches, Dianda has scored twice on five shot attempts and has started three games.

The award also marks a program milestone, with Dianda becoming the first Rainbow Wahine player to earn a Mountain West weekly honor since UH officially joined the conference.

The Rainbow Wahine return to action Saturday against Hawaiʻi Pacific at 4 p.m. at the UH Lower Campus Field.
