First Alert Forecast: Tracking a developing cyclone, severe conditions possible this weekend
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Moderate to locally breezy trade winds will continue through the next few days with a gradual strengthening expected Thursday into Friday. Mostly dry conditions will continue to persist through Friday with some some passing showers over windward and mauka areas. A developing cyclone is approaching the state with possible severe weather over the weekend. Conditions will vary from island to island, so best to be prepared for strong winds and heavy rain as well as large life-threatening surf along east and southeast shores through Sunday.

A near advisory south swell picks up today. An east swell from the developing cyclone is expected on Friday with possible warning level surf.
