Police investigate vehicle arson on Kamehameha Highway

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Honolulu police have opened an arson investigation after a vehicle was intentionally set on fire Tuesday afternoon.

Police said a 21-year-old man witnessed two juvenile boys pour an accelerant on his parked vehicle in a store parking lot on Kamehameha Highway around 4 p.m.

The suspects fled the scene, and the vehicle caught fire shortly afterward.

Witnesses described the suspects as two boys around 13 to 14 years old, of Filipino descent. One was last seen wearing a red “Hawaii’s Finest” shirt, while the other was wearing a black shirt.

Police are investigating the incident as first-degree arson.
