Campaign signs are not allowed along Hawaii state highways

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Hawaii Department of Transportation is reminding the public that it is illegal to post campaign signs along state highways.

That includes fences, overpasses, signposts, and poles.

Illegally posted signs will be removed and thrown away.

Sign waving is also illegal along state highway rights of way where pedestrians are not allowed.

Campaign supporters are allowed to wave signs in locations where pedestrians are normally allowed, but they are not allowed to place them in the ground.
