Water main break prompts lane closures in Ala Moana

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A 12-inch water main break has prompted lane closures in the Ala Moana area Wednesday.

The break was first reported at around 4:15 a.m. near the Federal Building on Ala Moana Boulevard.

The Board of Water Supply closed two eastbound lanes of Ala Moana Boulevard between Richards and Punchbowl streets while crews repair the break.

As of 2 p.m., the utility said no customers are currently affected due to a bypass, but that could change as repairs progress.

BWS previously said 14 services may be affected during the repairs.
