HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Another Hawaiian monk seal pup on Oʻahu’s east side has been given a name.

Meet Kaʻimiloaowahipua, also known as RV42. She was born this season in Hauʻula to Sadie (RB12).
She was given her name by students at Hauʻula Elementary School, the Hawaii Marine Animal Response announced Wednesday.

Kaʻimiloaowahipua translates to “The Explorer of Wahipua,” an ode to a reef in Hauʻula where the monk seal pup was born.
