Gov. Green signs bills to support kupuna, set AI guardrails

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Gov. Josh Green signed two bills Tuesday to support Hawaii’s aging population and guide the state’s use of artificial intelligence.

At a ceremony at the State Capitol, Green signed , which focuses on dementia and services for kupuna.

Green was joined by lawmakers and community leaders, including members of the Legislative Kūpuna Caucus, Sen. Jarrett Keohokalole, Rep. Trish La Chica, and representatives from The Queen’s Health System and the Office of Wellness and Resilience.

Officials said the measures are intended to strengthen services for Hawaii’s aging population while ensuring AI is used responsibly in government.
