HPD investigating Round Top Drive crash that left driver critically injured
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – On Sunday at about 6 p.m., a critical motor vehicle crash involving a single vehicle occurred on Round Top Drive in the Makiki area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department that a 39-year-old woman was driving northbound on Round Top Drive near the lower Tantalus lookout when, for unknown reasons, she left the roadway and struck a tree on the unimproved shoulder.
As a result of the collision, the 39-year-old woman was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition.

Police said the 39-year-old female motorist was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
At this time, HPD said speed does not appear to be a contributing factor to this collision. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are contributing factors.
