Recent UH graduate ‘extremely grateful’ to win Toyota Hawaii car giveaway

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A recent University of Hawaiʻi graduate has a brand-new ride, thanks to Toyota Hawaiʻi’s first “Cap and Corolla” giveaway.

Frederick Tamayo Jr. was randomly selected from over 4,100 eligible entries.

He officially received the keys to his 2026 Toyota Corolla LE at Servco Toyota Honolulu Friday.

The ʻEwa Beach resident works in downtown Honolulu, and said he’s “extremely grateful” for the prize.

“Graduating from college, going into this next chapter of life, there’s a lot of expenses, responsibilities,” he said. “Having a new car, a reliable car actually, it means a lot. It gives you flexibility and a peace of mind.”

Servco director of brand marketing Judy Relosimon Ng said the giveaway reflects the company’s broader commitment to the community — and the next generation.

“We love celebrating recent grads and supporting our future leaders, so we hope it’s something that we could do annually,” she said.
