Prosecutors charge 14-year-old in Waianae machete carjacking that ended in crash
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The 14-year-old suspect connected to a violent carjacking case out of Waianae that ended with a crash in town has been charged.

The 14-year-old was charged on Thursday with multiple counts, including robbery, resisting order to stop, unauthorized control of a vehicle, and driving without a license.
Police tell us the suspect was armed with a machete when he threatened a 76-year-old woman just before 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the area of Guard Street and Farrington Highway.

The victim said she was feeding stray cats in the area when she left her car running nearby.
The 14-year-old then allegedly took her car, which was later spotted by Honolulu police officers just before 2 a.m. near Kapiolani Medical Center.

Police said he crashed into 2 parked cars before being taken into custody.
