LEGO dancing hula girl needs votes to become set

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – An iconic symbol of Hawaii could soon be on store shelves, but its creator needs help to get it there.

Loverix Davy built a “Dancing Hula Girl” out of LEGO, inspired by dashboard hula dolls.

Davy spent several months designing the set, including a mechanism to recreate swaying hips. He then built the model to test its stability and ensure the movement worked.

He shared a video of the model on Instagram.

Davy’s creation is now on LEGO Ideas, where fan submissions can be considered for an official LEGO set if they reach 10,000 supporter votes and pass a review by LEGO designers.

He currently has more than 1,800 votes and was also selected as a “staff pick” by the LEGO Ideas Team.
