HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Starting July 1, stores that sell raw ahi products in Hawaii will have to list the country of origin on their labels.

Act 238 applies to establishments that buy more than $230,000 worth of fresh or frozen ahi annually.

The state will initially enforce the new guidelines through education and outreach.
