ALOHA for HAWAII: Hawaii News Now raises more than $500K and counting for Kona low storm recovery

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Recovery doesn’t end when the skies clear.

March’s Kona Low storms caused widespread damage across the islands, with communities on Oʻahu’s North Shore and Molokaʻi experiencing infrastructure damage, significant crop loss, and disruptions to livelihoods.

Families, farms, and local businesses are still struggling to clean up, rebuild, and recover.

The Hawaii News Now’s ALOHA for HAWAIʻI benefit raised more than $500,000 for ongoing relief efforts.

On Tuesday, May 12, a live, daylong fundraising effort — in collaboration with hospitality industry leaders and partners — featured community voices, artists, nonprofit partners, prize giveaways and more.
