Dominic Cortez Nichols, 31, was arrested at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after the plane landed Tuesday morning.

Court documents allege the 27-year-old woman next to him was attempting to sleep with her hands between her thighs when he placed his own hand between hers and touched her inner thigh and pelvic region.

She was moved to another seat after reporting the incident to a flight attendant.

The criminal complaint states that Nichols admitted to touching the woman during an interview with Port of Seattle Police and said an in-flight movie caused him to become sexually aroused.

Nichols had an initial court hearing on Tuesday and is expected to have a detention hearing Wednesday.

Abusive sexual contact on an aircraft is punishable by up to two years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
