Mid-Pacific Institute launches nationwide search for next president

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Mid-Pacific Institute has launched a nationwide search for its next president.

The independent K-12 college preparatory school said it is seeking its 10th president, with the selected candidate expected to begin July 1, 2027.

Mid-Pacific’s Board of Trustees recently formed a Presidential Search Committee and hired Resource Group 175, a firm specializing in leadership recruitment for independent schools, to oversee the process.

“Mid-Pacific is driven by values that honor ohana, creativity, innovation, and a deep sense of belonging,” said Chris Dods, a member of the school’s Board of Trustees and co-chair of the search committee. “We are looking for a leader who shares this commitment and brings the vision needed to build upon our foundations for years to come.”

Founded in 1908, Mid-Pacific serves students from kindergarten through 12th grade and is known for programs including the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and Mid-Pacific School of the Arts.

School officials said the next president will be expected to embrace Mid-Pacific’s mission, understand Hawaiʻi’s unique culture and help guide the school’s continued growth and innovation.

Applications are being accepted through Sept. 4, 2026. The school has launched a dedicated webpage with details about the search and application process.
