Maui Bus free for students and County employees, starting July 1

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow)- Maui buses will soon be free to students and Maui County employees.

The County of Maui Department of Transportation said Maui Bus fixed-route fares will start on Wednesday, July 1, and the system will add stops in Kahului, Puunene Avenue, Haliimaile, Napili, and Kihei (Piikea Avenue).

The new fixed-route fares include free rides for students of any age with a valid student ID and free rides for County of Maui employees with a valid County ID.
