Police warn of rising gas thefts on Kauai
KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Kauai Police Department is warning the public about gasoline thefts.

Hawaii News Now recently reported a rise in gasoline thefts, leaving Kauai drivers with costly repairs and rattled nerves.
Police said these gas thefts have been performed by either siphoning or drilling into the fuel tanks of vehicles.

The department previously said there have been about 20 reports of gasoline theft island-wide over the past three months.

Police said to report suspicious persons or vehicles observed lingering near parked vehicles, especially during the night, at (808) 241-1711.
