Water main break in McCully prompts road closure

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A water main break in the McCully area has prompted a lane closure along Kapiolani Boulevard.

The Board of Water Supply said crews were working to repair a service lateral leak on Kapiolani Boulevard just east of Date Street, fronting a construction zone of the Kuilei Place condominium.

At around 3 p.m., officials said repairs were complete, but crews discovered a 12-inch water main break in the same area and are continuing repairs.

Crews closed one lane of Kapiolani Boulevard as repairs continue.

BWS said the leak has interrupted water service to about 35 services in the area.
