Man accused of killing housemate on Kauai pleads not guilty
KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) – The man accused of killing his housemate and injuring another person pleaded not guilty in court Thursday.

William “Billy” Sinclair, 51, pleaded not guilty to 28 counts, including murder for the alleged killing of Sergio Reyes Hernandez, 37, and attempted murder.
Sinclair allegedly shot and killed Hernandez at a restaurant in Hanalei, then led police on a two-day manhunt that ended in the ocean.

Police said he also shot at another person, who was grazed by a bullet.
A Kauai grand jury returned an indictment that also charges Sinclair with possessing 20 firearms, three suppressors and ammunition that he is prohibited from possessing as a person who has been convicted of having committed a felony.
The indictment subjects Sinclair to possible extended sentencing as a multiple offender if convicted.

His trial is set for the end of September.
