Grand jury indicts Kauai man on 28 counts, including murder
LIHUE (HawaiiNewsNow) – A Kauai grand jury returned an indictment charging William “Billy” Sinclair with 28 counts Wednesday, including second-degree murder.

The charges also include second-degree attempted murder, 2 counts of carrying or use of firearm in the commission of a separate felony, 3 counts of possession of prohibited firearm or silencer, and 21 counts of ownership or possession prohibited.
The 51-year-old is accused of shooting and killing his housemate, Sergio Reyes Hernandez, 37, at a restaurant in Hanalei.
He then led authorities a on a two-day manhunt that ended in the ocean.
Police say he also shot at another person who was grazed by a bullet.
The indictment also charges Sinclair with possessing 20 firearms, three suppressors and ammunition that he is prohibited from possessing as a person who has been convicted of having committed a felony.

The indictment subjects Sinclair to possible extended sentencing as a multiple offender if convicted.
Sinclair is currently being held without bail. He is scheduled to return to court Thursday morning.
