Joshua Black, 32, was indicted on one count of second-degree murder in the death of 70-year-old Jesus Black.

Prosecutors said the case stems from an incident on June 10. Honolulu police officers initially responded to a disturbance involving Joshua Black, who was later transported to The Queen’s Medical Center.

Later that day, officers were called to an apartment building, where they found Jesus Black suffering from injuries. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

If convicted, Joshua Black faces a sentence of life in prison. Because the victim was 70 years old, the court could impose a sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole, prosecutors said.

Black is currently being held without bail at the Honolulu Police Department cellblock.
