According to the City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Transportation Services, the adjustments are intended to help maintain public transportation services and support ongoing operations, maintenance and future improvements across Oahu’s transit system.
“We remain committed to providing reliable and accessible transit service for our community,” DTS Director Roger Morton said. “These fare adjustments help ensure we can continue operating and improving TheBus, Skyline and Handi-Van services, while meeting the transportation needs of Oahu.”
Officials said there will be no changes to single-ride fares, now called a two-hour pass, for riders using a HOLO card on TheBus and Skyline. Registered HOLO card users will continue to have access to balance protection, account management tools and fare-capping benefits.

The city said revenue generated through fares helps support daily transit operations and helps ensure transportation services remain available for residents and visitors.
