Suspect arrested in deadly Keeaumoku St. shooting
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred Sunday near the intersection of Keeaumoku Street and Kapiolani Boulevard.

On Monday afternoon, District 1 Crime Reduction Unit officers arrested a 37-year-old man on suspicion of second-degree murder, police said.
Hawaii News Now was there when police captured the suspect near Auwaiolimu and Whiting streets.

The investigation stems from a shooting reported around 4:53 a.m. Sunday.
Emergency Medical Services said a 23-year-old man suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Police later said the victim died from his injuries, prompting investigators to reclassify the case from attempted murder to second-degree murder.

Charges are being sought through the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney.
The investigation remains ongoing.
