The three-day gathering will be held along Front Street July 17-19. Event organizers say the gathering is an opportunity to bring people back to Lahaina to heal together, honor what was lost, and invest in the future. It will include cultural activities, storytelling, and resources to help with recovery efforts.
“This marks an important milestone in Lahaina’s recovery,” Mayor Richard Bissen said in a press release. “While there is still much work ahead, Lahaina Homecoming provides an opportunity for our community to come together, celebrate the culture and spirit of Lahaina, strengthen connections and create meaningful opportunities for local vendors, entrepreneurs and community organizations to be part of the community’s continued recovery and future.”
The Maui Economic Recovery Commission (Maui ERC) Healing Journey Team is organizing the event with help from community partners. Vendors are invited to apply to participate in the event at lahainahomecoming.com. Applications close June 15th.
