HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A watermain break caused a large sink hole in Maunawili late Monday morning.

Shortly before noon, a watermain break prompted a street closure along Maunawili Road, from Aloha Oe Drive to Maunawili Circle.
Board of Water Supply crews are on the scene to assess the situation and work to reopen the road.

The Honolulu Police Department is helping with traffic management, but drivers are asked to avoid the area until crews can get the road reopened.
