HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Waikiki Aquarium is celebrating World Ocean Month with a month-long series of events highlighting ocean conservation, marine science and community stewardship.<\/p>\n

Throughout June, guests at the aquarium can participate in beach cleanups, educational programs, art exhibitions, family activities and other special events.<\/p>\n

The \u201cYouth Ocean Art Exhibition\u201d begins Friday at the aquarium\u2019s Pacific Island Ocean Exploration Center and Capitol Modern, daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., until the end of the month. The exhibit features ocean-inspired artwork by Oahu students, more than 150 from 22 schools, done in partnership with the University of Hawaii Sea Grant College Program. <\/p>\n

The exhibit aligns with World Ocean Day celebrations and Hawaii\u2019s 2026 declaration of \u201cMakahiki Kuleana Kahakai: The Year of Our Coastal Kuleana.\u201d<\/p>\n
