HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Nice stretch of weather \u2026 If you\u2019re planning for the weekend, the weather is looking pretty favorable across Hawaii. The recent moisture plume has moved away, and we\u2019re settling back into a classic summer trade-wind pattern.<\/p>\n

For most areas, that means plenty of sunshine mixed with passing showers, especially for windward and mauka communities during the overnight and early morning hours. Leeward areas should stay mostly dry with long stretches of sunny weather, making it a great weekend for outdoor activities, beach days, hiking, and family gatherings.<\/p>\n

Trade winds will remain moderate to breezy, which will help keep temperatures comfortable but could make it feel a little windy at the beaches and along exposed coastlines. <\/p>\n

If you\u2019re heading out on the water, conditions may be rough in the typically windier channels and waters around Maui County and the Big Island.<\/p>\n

Surf along south-facing shores will continue to gradually come down from the recent large swell. Waves should still provide fun conditions for experienced surfers while becoming a little more manageable for beachgoers compared to earlier this week. <\/p>\n

East shore surf will be near normal summer levels thanks to the steady trades.<\/p>\n

For much of windward Oahu and many windward neighborhoods across the islands, expect the usual pattern of a few passing showers, mainly at night and in the early morning, followed by periods of sunshine during the day. <\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t look like there\u2019s any significant weather system or widespread rain event on the horizon.<\/p>\n

Overall, this weekend is shaping up to feature the kind of weather many people picture when they think of Hawaii\u2014breezy trade winds, warm temperatures, occasional refreshing showers, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy time outside.<\/p>\n

It is the third day of hurricane season, and we are tracking TS Amanda over the eastern Pacific, it will stay over open water and fizzle out.<\/p>\n
